Elgato Game Capture HD60 S — For Serious Streamers
The new wave of consoles from Sony and Microsoft gives everyone the tools to record, share and even live-broadcast their gameplay. This process can be slightly modified for a PS3 by using the included AV cable instead (no worries it still records in 1080i HD) or the included component adapter for older consoles. The Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro supports resolutions up to 2160p60, giving it a leg up on 1080p60 cards.
Well, it could be like those random sellers who have limited knowledge of what they are selling, but this would actually explain why the image quality is horrible for 60 FPS - It is compressed video - and this would actually explain why this capture card is compatible with USB 2.0 ports (or so it is claimed by some sellers) - the USB 3.0 mode allows higher bitrate, but is not used for lossless raw transfer - pure USB 3.0 cards like Avermedia LGX and Elgato HD60 S would just refuse to work with USB 2.0.
If quality is the most important consideration, a 4k60 capture card is the ideal purchase. The software is the main thing which most streamers and recorders are going to look at if they're okay with the slight quality drop from the screen itself. As we have mentioned in the intro, PC users don't actually need a capture card in order to stream, as the graphics card and the CPU can do all the work.
The in-built streaming and capture facilities of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are fine as far as they go, but if you're disappointed in any way with the quality, the HD60 is well worth investigating - it has a quality level and feature-set that punches well above its weight.

If you don't like bundled software and would prefer your capture card to be as minimalist as possible, you won't be unhappy with the quality from the Razer Ripsaw.
Their hardware hasn't let me down, and their Game Capture HD software is great and continues to improve. The port on the HD60 S is actually USB Type-C, and it plugs into your PC via the blue USB 3.0 port. Editing the length of the saved gameplay footage can quickly be done with the software as well (though heavy duty editing and such will need to be done with more advanced editing software… Sony Vegas, etc).
